A great sporting canoe with excellent stability and good performance.

An extremely stable, mid-sized recreational design, the Kingfisher is an excellent canoe for hunting and fishing, birdwatching, wildlife and nature photography, or simply exploring your local backwaters.

While rock-solid stability is a major appeal of this recreational design, the Kingfisher has surprisingly good performance as well. Similar in concept to our Fisherman, the Kingfisher is an inch wider and a full two feet longer. Not only is it more comfortable for larger paddlers, the Kingfisher's extra length also gives it better efficiency, and improved capacity. And while it is not as maneuverable as the Fisherman, the Kingfisher's 16 foot length is still easy for most paddlers to manage.

The Kingfisher's outstanding combination of stability and efficiency make this an extraordinary canoe for both new paddlers and seasoned outdoor adventurers who desire a super-stable sporting canoe.

A solo canoe that defines a new standard for mid-length extended solo tripping canoes.

We designed the Wilderness to carry plenty of gear and encourage distant exploration far beyond the reaches of smaller, less efficient crafts. The Wilderness carries additional freeboard and bow height for a dryer ride in rough waters common to larger, wind exposed lakes. We married the dryness of additional freeboard with the correct amount of tumblehome for efficient paddling technique.

Designed as a tripper, the Wilderness is a dream on portages allowing for more time on the water and additional distance each day. A well-rounded stability profile and moderate rocker inspire confidence and maneuverability, whether on a loaded tour or evening paddle. The Wenonah Wilderness is available in our proven light weight composite constructions at a price for all budgets.

Classic tandem Canoe Design

The boat that started it all, the original, the 17 Wenonah. The first canoe ever designed by owner and founder Mike Cichanowski in 1965, this instant classic was originally built out of wood strip and fiberglass in Mikes parents backyard shed. We carefully handcrafted a mold from the original boat that has been proudly displayed in Mikes home for the last 30 years. On July 17th, 2010 the original boat was officially inducted into the Winona County Historical Museum as a permanent fixture.

Available in our state of the art composite materials and layups, the 17 Wenonah displays lines similar to the classic wooden hulls built in the early 1900's. A great general use, canoe camping, and family boat with a unique look and storied past, the 17 Wenonah is a must have for serious canoe connoisseurs and open boat history buffs.

Voyager 17' 6"

Voyager 17' 6"

Made to track straight and travel fast with a load.

The solo version of our Minnesota II, the Voyager is long, lean, and quite deep. It has space and flotation for gear, with the efficiency to transport it well. A fine choice for lakes and open rivers, this hull addresses two salient issues:

A solo trip requires more than half as much gear, but with only half the power to propel it. While some other models can fit enough load, the Voyager hauls it farther with less effort. It makes longer and heavier solo trips practical.

Or, if a solo accompanies capable tandems on a trip, it usually must carry little gear, or it slows the pace. This hull makes the lone paddler an equal partner, hauling a fair share at a good rate.

To suit its mission, Dave Kruger has created our longest, narrowest solo. Significant tumblehome also promotes strong, comfortable strokes. These aspects and its shallow-arch hull give it better performance than shorter or wider hulls, especially when loaded.

Downsides? It certainly won't run slaloms, but slight rocker gives it proper agility for its purpose. The Voyager also prefers an adept paddler, or gear in the bilge to lower the center of gravity.

This hull is also rewarding to paddle light for lake touring, aerobic conditioning, etc., but we suggest you buy it mainly for long escapes, where the Voyager's supreme capabilities will add the most to your satisfaction.
